Appletree Tower, Seolleung Station, Seoul (2018)

Since the construction boom in the 70s and 80s, safety measures for old elevators have become increasingly important as elevators over 15 years old account for nearly one-third of all elevators in Korea. Moreover, according to the revised Elevator Safety Management Act, elevators that have been in operation for 15 years must undergo a detailed safety inspection every three years. As a result, the remodeling scene has also become lively Samseong-dong Appletree Tower, an office building completed in June 1996, has just completed the replacement of three 120-meter per minute models, ranging in height from 4 to 15 floors above ground. The interior design features split trim using titanium bronze and bonded metal to create a luxurious atmosphere.
