[Design Story]Beautiful Reinterpretation of the Moving Space / N:EX Series

Differentiated Design of N:EX Series

When you think of an "elevator," words like "safety" and "technology" come to mind first. However, safety is a given, and Hyundai Elevator's N:EX Series, which incorporates the H-BELT DRIVE SYSTEM to minimize noise and vibrations, adds "aesthetics" as a further distinguishing element. Let's explore the design features of the N:EX elevator, which offers passengers a new visual experience, breaking away from typical and mundane spaces.

A blend of Various Materials

Multi-color Steel Plates

A new material called <Multi-color> was developed to achieve delicate detailing, overcoming the monotonous design. This material, one of the key components of the N:EX Series elevators, allows a single steel plate to exhibit a mix of various materials, resulting in an effective yet economical design. Within the N:EX Series, the TERRAS model applies a pattern resembling gilded pieces, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of artisan craftsmanship. By increasing the density of the pattern on the top surface, the effect of twinkling under light is maximized. In addition, the rear wall combines metal and black coating, offering a variation to the stripe pattern to prevent monotony.

Design Highlights of the FORET Model

Elegant Diagonal Motif

The FORET model, which exudes a rich atmosphere with bronze tones, introduces a "diagonal motif" to the walls, offering a fresh and unique feel. Metal lines extend in all directions like the branches of a tree, providing a creative pattern among the vertical lines reminiscent of tree trunks. On top of that, the square line lighting on the ceiling further expands the glossiness of the walls, adding a focal point to the space.

Clean Ambiance Unique to the GLACIER Model

Meeting of Wood Pattern and White-Toned Walls

The GLACIER model employs white tones commonly found in furniture and interiors, creating a bright space while applying a deep-colored wood pattern to the side walls, infusing a warm sentiment. The wood pattern enhances the natural and subtle grain, adding sophistication, and the contrast between the white-toned rear wall and brightness creates an unmatched sense of cleanliness.

Conclusion

An elevator serves more than just a means of transportation. The enjoyable visual experience one can feel in fine restaurants or exhibition spaces becomes a cherished memory associated with the place, which lingers in one's heart for a long time. To ensure that every passenger can experience the joy of such beautiful spaces, designers at Hyundai Elevator constantly strive to create memorable experiences. Hyundai Elevator aims to create a unique art piece within limited spaces, blending diverse interiors with the building while catering to the customer's preferences, going beyond uniform designs, and continuing to research and innovate in the future
