[Design Story]Introducing a newly renovated elevator showroom

Hyundai Elevator Chungju showroom

Show rooms at Hyundai Elevator's new Chungju factory, which opened in June 2023, have been renewed with a more solid composition and reopened on December 1st. In this renewal, a number of interesting exhibition spaces with various themes were added, including a new project promoted by Hyundai Elevator; "Future Tech Zone" introducing H-Port, "Smart Tech Zone" with smart elevators, and "Last Mile Zone" introducing robot delivery and so on. Let's take a look at the new Hyundai Elevator Showroom together.

The Future Vision of Hyundai Elevator

01. Future Tech Zone

Have you ever imagined a future city with UAMs and drones flying around? "Future Tech Zone" introduces H-Port, a new business that Hyundai Elevator is promoting for the realization of a smart city in the near future. H-Port is a Vertiport project that allows aircraft such as drones and UAM to be stored vertically in buildings using our own vertical & horizontal movement technology. It optimizes the charging, maintenance, and containment of aircraft vertically to optimize the urban environment where buildings are concentrated. If you enter the exhibition booth, you can check the details with the vertiport model through the video.

Smart elevator with special glass

02. Smart Tech Zone

Smart glass with colorful displays on both sides of the observation elevator of the smart tech zone forms a wall. When you enter the elevator, the wall of the smart glass becomes transparent and you can see the tech zone space across the street. Inside the smart elevator, you can experience various new technologies such as smart CCTV, smart mirrors, air touches, and foot button functions.

Elevator with robots

03. Last Mile Zone

Hyundai Elevator has released an Open API for robot connecting so that robots can board the elevator smoothly along with people. The open API is a program interface on the operation status and location of the elevator and the method of getting on/off, allowing robot manufacturers and delivery service companies to call and board the elevator through Hyundai Elevator's Open API. Robot manufacturers and delivery service companies can easily link elevators and robots through Hyundai Elevator's Open API, thereby realizing the final section of delivery service, Last Mile Delivery.

Ultra-high speed technology

04. High-rise Zone

Hyundai Elevator’s Ultra-high speed traction machine(TM) is now on display in the showroom. This ultra-high-speed TM, which combines the technology of Hyundai Elevator, is featured by the use of carbon fiber belts with a speed of 76 kilometers per hour and a speed of 1,260 meters per minute. Because the carbon fiber belt weighs only one-sixth of the commonly used metal rope, the load of the suspension device is reduced. The driving distance, which was previously only 600 meters high, was extended to more than 1,000 meters, and reduced power consumption by 30%. In particular, carbon fiber belts have safer properties for resonance than conventional metal ropes, preventing wind and earthquake vibrations that may occur in high-rise buildings, enabling safe driving. In addition, it has more than doubled its lifespan compared to conventional ropes by strengthening friction and wear resistance by coating polymer materials. It is highly recommended to take a look at this overwhelming scale of TM in the showroom.

Preventing problems one step ahead

05. Service Zone

Smart System Miri (MIRI), which solves problems and prevents accidents before customers feel uncomfortable, is a new maintenance service of Hyundai Elevator that gives customers a completely new travel experience based on AI, IoT, cloud and big data technologies. Data generated in elevators are collected and analyzed in real time, and when abnormal signs are detected, an on-site response team is dispatched to solve the problem before customers feel inconvenience. The situation of the elevator can be quickly delivered through the application and portal. Details can be found through tablets and kiosks installed in the booth.

Thinking of environment and soiety

06. ESG Zone

In the ESG zone, you can check the contents of Hyundai Elevator's ESG management. Hyundai Elevator is taking the lead in ESG management by establishing an ESG committee and a dedicated organization under the board of directors for the first time in the domestic elevator industry in 2023. Hyundai Elevator seeks to analyze its impact on the environment and society and create sustainable value through a systematic approach to non-financial performance. In addition, Hyundai Elevator is creating a better world through low-carbon, eco-friendly strategies and innovative technologies. In addition, Hyundai Elevator faithfully implements international standards and recommendations such as the Sustainable Development Goals, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the OECD Guidelines. Keep an eye on Hyundai Elevator's growth through communication with various stakeholders such as shareholders, customers, partners, communities, and executives and employees.

In addition to the contents introduced above, existing contents before the showroom renewal, such as the history of Hyundai Elevator, actual display of elevator products, and CMF library, are still on display, so customers are encouraged to visit before purchasing the product. If you visit the showroom in person, you can hear more detailed explanations from the guide robot and guide, so if you have a chance, please visit.
